Outreach Coordinator Position

The objective of this position is to support educational programs, quality improvement activities, community outreach, and disaster preparedness and response activities that encourage patient and family-centered care and engagement and to improve care for ESRD patients across all AIMS.

Under the direction of the Executive Director and in collaboration with other departments, the Outreach Coordinator coordinates all Network 14 outreach through the provision of education, information and training to ESRD professionals, patients and their family members; assistance in disaster preparedness activities within the renal community and Texas; and is the primary liaison to the Patient Advisory Committee (PAC) and Facility Patient Representatives (FPR).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge in the science of public health education, measurement and use of data
  • Knowledge of electronic and print outreach tools and methodologies 
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Publisher, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Able to read, write, and clearly speak English; Spanish preferred
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with experience in public speaking
  • Knowledge of End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) preferred 
  • Knowledge of Medicaid program
  • Knowledge of Website management (WordPress)

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Health, Marketing and/or communications focus preferred
  • Experience working with federal and state regulatory agencies, professional and community groups preferred

Administrative Assistant (part time) Position

The Administrative Assistant performs general office work of moderate difficulty and is responsible for supporting the accurate, organized and timely system monitoring, documentation, communication and management of electronic and written files.  AA will perform all administrative duties for his/her assigned workgroup including sending and receiving correspondence, and generate appropriate logs and reports.   

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to communicate verbal and in written formats with good grammar and judgment 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work; manage time; and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Attention to detail and good proof reading skills
  • Ability to build rapport and interact well with team and customers
  • Ability to be flexible, adapt to change and cope with stress in a calm manner
  • Ability to type 45-55 WPM with data entry and keyboarding skills required
  • Previous telephone or customer service experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Computer literate with intermediate to advance-level knowledge of the Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING

  • High school diploma required. College degree preferred
  • One (1) to two (2) years experience in general clerical/administrative duties
  • Healthcare experience working with federal and state regulatory agencies, professional and community groups preferred
